Accommodation in student halls of residence
Conference delegates have the option of booking bed and breakfast accommodation in the University of Essex student housing for £43/night, (to be booked at registration). In addition, a two-course dinner on campus can be booked for each night for £11.25. Please fill in your requirements in the registration form.
If you have booked the student accommodation option, you can collect your keys at the conference desk Tue-Thu from an hour before the first presentation to just after the last presentation. If you are arriving outside these hours, you can collect them from EventEssex between 8am and 8pm, Mon-Thu. They are located on the campus in Square 4, next to Santander Bank. On the campus map, if you imagine a line between the letters B (Hexagon) and E (Limehouse), that line leads directly through Square 4, and you will see Event Essex if you look towards the top right corner of the map. Should you arrive after 8pm, please collect the key from the University Information Centre (this is marked on the campus map, it is about halfway between the letters H and D in Square 3). They are open 24 hours.
The accommodation itself is in Walton Court, number 4 on the map, close to the South Towers bus stop and Parking Lot B. If you arrive by bus and want to go straight to the conference venue, the North Towers bus stop is the better option (the venue is the Essex Business School, marked as J on the map).
Wivenhoe House Hotel is the four-star campus hotel of the University of Essex, it is also the location of our conference dinner on Thursday night.
Bed & Breakfast
There are a large number of very friendly private Bed & Breakfast providers close to the university campus. The most conveniently located ones are situated in Wivenhoe, from where there is a frequent bus service to the campus.
