Language Attrition Seminar Series (ESRC-funded)

In 2014, the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) awarded a grant for the organisation of a series of seminars to a group of scientists, with Monika Schmid as PI (grant ES/M001776/1). With the help of this grant, the following events were organised:

• Bilingualism and Cognitive Aging (University of Groningen, Netherlands; Jan 28^th-30^th 2015)
• Lost in transmission? The role of attrition and input in Heritage Language Development (University of Reading, Oct 8^th – 9^th, 2015).
• 3rd International Conference on Language Attrition (ICLA3), (University of Essex, July 5^th – 7^th, 2016)
• Bilingualism vs. Monolingualism: a new perspective on limitations to L2 acquisition (University of Toulouse, June 19^th – 20^th, 2017)
• Incomplete Language Acquisition and Attrition: Input-related challenges for early and late immigrants and returnees (Invited panel at the EuroSLA27 conference, University of Reading, Sept. 1^st, 2017)
• The Selectivity of Native Language Attrition (Edinburgh, Oct. 13^th-14^th, 2017)
• Minority Languages – colloquium at the 2017 Conference on Multilingualism (University of Groningen, Nov. 6^th – 8^th, 2017)
